Overview
The Wide Swath Research Radar System Analyzer (RSA) is a powerful radar testbed and environment simulator, designed to validate radar systems and subsystems before costly and complex field testing. Built on the same Astra™ operating system that powers our software-defined radars, the RSA provides unmatched flexibility for playback, capture, and delay-line testing — all in a convenient 2U 19″ rackmount form factor .
With the RSA, you can emulate real-world radar environments in the lab, accelerate algorithm development, and verify complete radar signal chains with precision and control.

Key Capabilities
- Three Core Modes of Operation :
- Playback – Output arbitrary signals or recorded radar returns to exercise downstream processors and receiver chains.
- Capture – Record extended radar signals with oscilloscope-like capability but vastly larger storage depth.
- Delay Line – Loop back captured inputs with programmable delay and scaling, supporting pulse-by-pulse variation.
- Dynamic Control & Customization:
- Pulse-by-pulse variation in delays, capture windows, and weights
- Phase correction capabilities for high-fidelity measurements
- Configurable for unique customer channel counts, bandwidths and interface needs
- Software Integration:
- Powered by Astra™ radar operating system
- GUI-based operation or programmatic API for automation and integration into customer workflows
Applications
- End-to-end validation of radar systems and digital backends
- Scene playback for algorithm development and machine learning training
- Extended capture and analysis of radar transmit chains
- Digital delay line emulation for closed-loop testing
Benefits
- Reduce risk by validating radar concepts in the lab before deployment
- Accelerate development with flexible replay and capture modes
- Enhance insight into system performance with flexible, configurable measurements
